The National Milk Processor Board’s “GOT MILK” campaign has been around since 1993 and featured everyone from William H. Macy to Bart and Lisa Simpson. It’s a cute enough campaign and gets parodied enough to prove it’s become part of our social conciousness, but to be honest it’s one of those things that you hardly even notice anymore.
When I saw their latest ad featuring Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern I almost flipped right past it without a second look – “yeah, yeah Milk whatever . . .”
But look at the ad – the glass of milk has been “created” by his power ring. I have no idea why that elevates this ad into something I really like because I almost couldn’t care less about the Green Lantern – but I do like this.
Is it possible that this Milk ad has made more of an impact on me about the Green Lantern Movie than millions of dollars in actual film advertising?
