On April 1st Starz is going to Camelot

Hot off the runaway success of Spartacus, the Starz Cable Network is tackling another period of history with their brand new series Camelot.

“In the wake of King Uther’s sudden death, chaos threatens to engulf Britain.  When the sorcerer Merlin has visions of a dark future, he installs the young and impetuous Arthur, Uther’s unknown son and heir, who has been raised from birth as a commoner. But Arthur’s cold and ambitious half sister Morgan will fight him to the bitter end, summoning unnatural forces to claim the crown in this epic battle for control.  These are dark times indeed for the new King, with Guinevere being the only shining light in Arthur’s harsh world. Faced with profound moral decisions, and the challenge of uniting a kingdom broken by war and steeped in deception, Arthur will be tested beyond imagination.”

Check out a first look video below and pay close attention to the 40 second mark. It’s at that point that a woman is thrown to the ground. You can see that they use a green painted mat to protect her from being tossed on the stone floor.  Then later they remove the green and composite the floor back in.  Laugh at me if you like, but I’ve always wondered how they do shots like that.  Now I know.  And knowing is half the . . . oh just watch the video. Oh yeah – it’s got Claire Forlani in it too – she was in Mallrats. I love that movie.

(By the way, the totally awesome animated Gif up there is from this site.  I did not ask permission to use it and I do not feel bad about it. That’s how I roll. )

Yeah you can just call me Calmixx for now. Maybe if we have a third date I'll give up the last name but not without dinner. Check out my silly little blog and let me know what you think. Because I care. I really do. Really. Honest. Sorta.
